ROBOTS ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD

Yes robots are taking over the world, but many people and companies use them to their advantage! In this blog I will discuss companies who use enterprise applications to support their business strategy and business model.

I will start with Adidas. 

Business model: The business model used by adidas primarily focuses on designing manufacturing and selling sportswear and footwear. They generate revenue from the sale of their goods all over the world.

Business strategy: Adidas focus on innovation, they constantly create new and improved products to meet the needs of consumers and athletes. A priority of Adidas is partnerships e.g boot deals with athletes such as Lionel Messi, brand marketing and appealing advertisements. Adidas want to have a global presence by targeting both existing and new emerging markets across the globe. They want to be a dominant player in the sportswear market and have a globally recognizable brand.

Software provider: SAP AG

Benefits of this system: This system helps Adidas manage various different aspects of their business for example finance, HR and supply chain management. The system allows Adidas to track their inventory accurately, manage orders and keep a record of financial transactions. Other major benefits include improved efficiency, informed decision making  and ensures their operations run smoothly across the globe.

Business Model: Their business model is based on subscription streaming, offering a wide range of movies and tv shows. Their customers pay a monthly fee and in return they can access the content anywhere at anytime on PC, TV mobile etc. To keep subscribers engaged they provide personal recommendations to their users. They invest largely in producing their own original content to retain subscribers. This is an extremely successful model which has changed the way we view content.

Business Strategy: They focus on delivering high quality content that makes appeal to a variety of audiences. They differentiate themselves by making original content such as the show 'Sex Education'. They prioritize technology and innovation by constantly updating their interface and the recommendation algorithm. They like to have a presence in international markets.

Benefits:  Like all major large companies Netflix does use ERP systems to help streamline processes such as finance, supply chain management and Human Resources, it helps Netflix manage their operations and allow a smooth business process. The main ways this system helps is with startup speed, runtime performance and modularity. In summary it manages the scale in terms of users content and devices.

Business model: HP are involved in various areas such as printing, computers, software and services. They design and manufacture a range of hardware devices including printers laptops and desktops.Their business model focuses primarily on on delivering innovative technology products and solutions to meet the demands of their customers.

Business strategy: They prioritise research and development to create cutting edge technology products. They have a large focus on sustainability, aiming to reduce their environmental impact through recycling initiatives and producing energy efficient products. HP focus largely on customer experience and strive for excellent customer service and support.

Type of ERP used: Microsoft Dynamics 365

Software provider: Microsoft

Benefits: HP uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 like other companies to manager customer relations, store data, finance manage, supply chain management and to manage finances. HP leverage this ERP system to optimise their operations and allow the company to operate more efficiently.
